Because of the thin media of floppy/Zip disks (Diskette), such as Zip Disks, Bernoulli Box, Syquest, Jaz Drives, Floppy Disks, and Compact Disks, they are more susceptible to physical damage, magnetic media failure and contamination failure than hard disks, and are all subject to the same risks and potential for data loss. Your Disk may produce error messages along the lines of:
"File not found"
"disk not formatted"
Disk I/O error
Invalid or corrupt partition
Clicking, or "click of death" .

The Zip drive is a medium-capacity removable disk storage system, introduced by Iomega in late 1994. Originally it had a capacity of 100 MB, but later versions increased this to first 250 MB and then 750 MB.
IOMEGA REV is a removable hard drive-based disk storage system from Iomega.
The Jaz drive was a removable disk storage system, introduced by the Iomega company. It has since been discontinued.
The Bernoulli Box (or simply Bernoulli) is a high-capacity removable disk storage system that was Iomega's first popular product. It was released in 1983.
A floppy disk is a data storage device that is composed of a disk of thin, flexible ("floppy") magnetic storage medium encased in a square or rectangular plastic shell. Floppy disks are read and written by a floppy disk drive or FDD.
